How to Plan the Perfect Day Trip in Indiana for Teens - Fishers

It's a bit daunting to travel with teens. Are they going to enjoy it? Are you going to enjoy it? We recently had a day where everyone in the family was free of activities. We decided to take advantage of it with a day trip. We landed on Fishers, Indiana. It's about a 2 hour drive for our family so we, of course, had to start with food. Our choice was Bru Burger for burgers all around. If you like garlic, give their Garlic - Three Cheese burger a try. Vampires beware, but it was delicious. We all left with full bellies and no hangriness to start the afternoon.

Our first adventure stop was K1 Speed - Indoor Go Karting in Fishers, Indiana. We were actually the only people there so we had no wait time and could do back-to-back races. This was a weekday so weekends may very well be packed. Each race was about 10 minutes long. Your purchase includes a head covering to go under the provided helmets. We donned our gear and proceeded to the track for some easy rules and directions. There were five of us this day and we raced around the track to our hearts content. Bragging rights to the kids, of course. K1 also has a small game room so we took a short break and played a few rounds of different games before heading back to the track to finish our races. This was our first time to K1 and we will be going back. The whole group had a great time.

Next up, was a trip to Top Golf, also in Fishers, Indiana. The two locations were pretty near each other so it was a short 4 minute drive to Top Golf. We've been to Top Golf before and were familiar with the setup. We usually get reservations, but this day was not busy and we quickly walked to an open bay. Top Golf is basically a driving range that is set up electronically to measure and track where your ball lands. There are several types of games to choose from. We played a "regular" game where you try to hit the targets and get points based on accuracy and distance. Then, we played a special game that was on the monitor to mimic Angry Birds. There were markers on the screen to show approximately where the structures from the game were on the field and you tried to aim for them. Mom and Dad did well at this game. You do not have to be a good golfer to have fun here. We also had some snacks. Growing kids, you know. If you get anything, grab the donut holes you can fill with your own filling! Yum! After a couple of hours of fun, we headed back home. Fun, easy to get to, great parking, friendly staff, clean bathrooms...great experience.

I'd easily recommend this as a day trip if you live within a couple of hours of Fishers.

Keep following if you'd like to hear about other trips we take as a family with teens.
