All Better - The bandaid book - Best Toddler Book Ever!

jennydawn12

Is that a little dramatic? If you know what I'm talking about already you know it's no exaggeration. I have recommended this book to hundreds of people and I've never had anyone disagree with me. It's part of a series of now 8 books and I've had a lot of people come back and grab all 8. It's that good. What is it, you ask? All Better or better known as the "bandaid book." Have you heard of it now? It is a great book written by Bernd Penners, illustrated by Henning Lohlein and published by Kane Miller publishing.

Why is is so special? Three things.

  1. What kid doesn't love bandaids.

  2. It's interactive.

  3. Teaches empathy and compassion.

The story follows 5 friends; bear, elephant, sheep, monkey and dog who are playing and they get some sort of scrape that needs you to "clean it, kiss it and put a bandaid on it" to make it "all better."

Bandaids

The bandaids are made up of a durable plastic that is restickable. They have a home inside the front cover where you can match up the colors to put them back after reading the story. This will create hours and hours of enjoyment. Each bandaid corresponds to a matching animal making it easy for little ones to find the right match.

Interactive

The first time, your kiddo might need help removing the bandaid from packaging, but after that they can move and remove the bandaid over and over. This helps with dexterity and autonomy. You can talk about why they chose the bandaid they did, match colors and animals and put it back in its place as well as reading the cute story.

Empathy

Each animal gets a boo-boo or ouchy that you can discuss with your child. This can lead to discussions on how to ask for help or how to help others. It can teach you child to be sensitive when others get hurt. It also helps them learn about different emotions.

Overall, this is a fabulous book and I'm sure you will agree. Check out all of the reusable sticker books at PaperPie.
