Creative Solutions for Managing and Displaying Kids' Art Projects at Home

Ever thought this exact thing? I'm sure you have. When my oldest was two I "retired" and became a stay at home mom. I was so excited to be home with him every day and soon his little brother, too. I was determined to make all the things and do all the things. You know what I mean, right? After no time, this resulted in finding homes for all the things. Ugh! I didn't want to just throw them away. Some were cuter than others and some were definitely fails, but they all had memories attached and I just needed to save them. Fast forward a few years and a few totes of these precious memories and I found the perfect match for my dilemma. If this works for you, too, go for it!

I had saved so many items I was overwhelmed with what to do with them. Two kids and too many crafts! First, I took pictures of each item. For kiddo #1, I was at nearly 200 photos. These were crafts, a few homemade cards like Valentine's Day, some handprint items and some handwriting items I wanted to keep. Then, I shopped around for online printable books. I found an easy to use one that worked for me. I also use it to make the kids a birthday book each year, but that's for another post.

I put 9 photos on a page so that I could fit more items in the book and still be able to see the detail that was in them. I also tried to put them in date order so it was a little bit more organized by age. I switched a few around that made sense like all of the handwriting pieces together, for example. It is that easy. You can make it more detailed by labeling each item with a date or what it was made for or you can just make it a picture book like I did. Now, I have a cute little (way less space consuming) book to remember all of their creative work.
